ABACO® is the first and only antibacterial coating applied using PVD technology, which adds an incredible ability to block the proliferation of bacteria to the extraordinary technical properties of our Is-Pro® coatings.

Why are ABACO® coatings antibacterial?

Thanks to innovative production processes, ABACO® is not only able to inhibit the growth of bacteria but also eliminate them. 

The antibacterial and bactericidal properties of ABACO® last for the entire useful life of the object and have been proven through laboratory tests conducted by the University of Brescia.

The ABACO® validation tests were conducted in accordance with Japanese standard JIS Z 2801/A12012, the most rigorous and widely applied standard in the scientific field.
